Frumpy Rue has been born from my love of breathing new life into something old and bringing back the glamour that is so defined by yesterday's classic and timeless jewels!
I have been designing jewelry since I was a child as I loved all the different colors and textures of beads and the sparkle of rhinestones. I loved nothing better than playing with my mother's or grandmother's jewelry, much of which dated to the 1930's and 1940's. I had the unique opportunity of being raised in a modern world but with a much older generation parent and grandparents. I have been surrounded all my life by vintage pieces, classic music and old sentimental items that still carry their secrets with them. My passion has always been preserving and using these treasures from the past, ever determined that they should not be tucked away and not loved and seen and held! Inspired by fairytales and whimsical things, I often bring this element into my designs.

Important Information:
Many pieces of Frumpy Rue's jewelry will include vintage treasures from Austrian crystals or brass charms and pendants or glass in antique settings. I always choose quality pieces but due to the age and vintage nature, there can be imperfections. I think that adds to the charm of the design but if you prefer all new embellishments, check the descriptions before purchasing. Also, some items can no longer be sourced to verify their material so please check our descriptions carefully if you have skin allergies or sensitivities. I use lead and nickel free items whenever possible but it can't be guaranteed.

~We now offer clip-ons for most of the earrings in the shop! Please just inquire before purchase to check availability and also to request photos of clip on styles available.~
~~Also, measurements on necklaces are available on the listing. The length that is reflected is the hanging length, how far it will hang from the neck meaning the actual chain will be twice as long. Example, a listed 14" chain will hang 14 inches down from the neck, the total length of the chain is actually 28 inches. I have found this to be easier for customers to measure for themselves where their piece will fall while wearing.~~

I take very close up photos of my jewelry to show all the sparkles and details of Frumpy Rue pieces. Doing this may cause items to appear larger than actual size and it's important to me that my items are represented accurately. Please see details for sizing information or feel free to ask if in question to the size of a particular piece. It's important to me that there are no surprises when your purchase is received!
All purchases will include a Frumpy Rue jewelry box as pictured with your lovely piece carefully packaged. I believe that receiving a beautiful package in the mail is the best treat and hope it brings you joy to receive! If you order multiple pieces, I will package each separately in case you are giving them as gifts. If you would prefer less boxes and combine into one box, please just leave me a note at checkout.
